Monday’s featured comic is Welcome to Border City!
Border City (built by 12 legendary superheroes) was intended as a haven, a place where the darkness of the world outside would be kept outside. But all is not well within Border City’s walls- Evil is still at work. The comic has wonderful art with great attention to detail. It’s the enjoyably puzzling characters and story that make Border City what it is, however.

Th_Mole tells me that The One Panel Case Files has reached 250 comics as of today!

Also having a milestone today is blntmaker, maker of Better Luck Next Time, which has reached 75 pages!

Elanor Pam’s Sinful reached 50 pages last week, congrats!

Lastly, hitting 100 is Pixel Plumbers by darkpower101010!

Piled Higher & Deeper

University, a time of alcohol, partying and missing lectures. At least thats what most webcomics show, but this isnt the case. Piled Higher & Deeper shows the life of a PhD student and as a student its pretty accurate to what I know happens. The missing lecturers, the lack of food, the going to lectures to fall asleep its all there.

Piled Higher & Deeper follows a few students;

Mike Slackenerny:- the older lazier student who has a gift for sleeping and finding free food,

Cecilia:- The chocoholic grad student who is almost always working and a female engineer,

Tajel:- A Socal Science student who is an active protester even though she is studying overseas

The mysterious main character:- Who is never named but is split between working and not.

and Prof. Smith who is Mike and the main character’s professor.

With plotlines such as what is a thesis idea to one-off strips comparing ninjas to professors (Professors would never be around for a fight between the two and the ninja would walk off due to boredom) Piled, Higher and Deeper shows an insight into the world of university/gives ideas to students on how to get free food.

The art work has been of a very high quality throughout and while plotlines have little relationship to one another but that doesnt matter as each story is almost perfect and the one-off strips work as well. The only regret I have is that I probably spent more time reading this comic this year than I did on my coursework at uni. It’s not much of a regret though.

So for an insight into the life of an university student PhD or undergraduate have a look at Piled Higher and Deeper, but don’t tell my lecturers.
