Tuesday’s featured comic was Story of a Robot!

It all started on the fateful day that Epsilon1-F4240 (he calls himself Humphry now) had his turn to empty the rubbish bin at Regalia Accountancy Inc. On this fateful trip to the basement, he acquired a hat. The hat changed everything. Who knew that robots led such complicated lives? The art style in this comic is pleasingly simple, and the writing shines with humor and wit.

Thursday’s featured comic is Dark Rising!

In the void of space, humanity explores looking for life and trying to charter new worlds. Don’t believe everything you’ve seen on Star Trek. What’s out there waiting in the dark abyss of space doesn’t want to be found. With stunning art work and lighting sloo captures the lonely atmosphere of space as our broken crew tries to survive annihilation at the hands of a menacing alien race.

MAG-ISA by kyupol has reached 125 pages! Congrats! Man kyupol has always got somethin’ goin’ on :)

drustan’s Grey Legacy (which won the 1993 Xeric award) has reached 50 pages! You can stop by and see never-before-seen story pages and behind the scenes sketches and info! It’s kind of like the director’s edition DVD release!

Also reaching 50 pages is nightlight’s Disorder and Disarray, which is an autobiographical comic! This kind of reminds me of those lite brites, you know? The old kind where you had to peg in the little plastic bits through the black construction paper… man those were awesome. Also, visit Disorder and Disarray!

Cross Worlds Nexxus by shaneronzio will be hitting a very big 700 pages in just a few days… quit hogging all the numbers guys some of us could use them GEEZ…. oh wait we just need to update more…

I missed a few days but here I am with more DD newsola

Monday’s featured comic is Guts!

Military and psychic rescue teams arrive too late to save Lancelot unit, who are found gruesomely dead in a mansion infested with paranormal dangers. It doesn’t take long for them to realize they’re in way over their heads…. Compelling storyline and amazingly detailed art will remind you of Hellboy and Guy Davis’s BPRD work. The black-and-white style is a treat to look at, and you should see the color pages!

Milestones!

Nepath (sounds kind of Egyptian doesn’t it?) has a superhero community project named Heroes Unite, and on Thursday it’s reaching 50 pages! 50 pages is pretty awesome for a community comic so go have a look!

At 100 pages we have mlai’s FIGHT, which I strongly reccommend everyone check out! I’d have featured it a long time ago if we could feature fan works…

Also at 100 pages we have Times Like This by PyThomas, which will be posted on Tuesday! Congrats! Man if I had a hundred ANYthing I’d be happy…

ANOTHER comic at 100 pages (so many industrious comic-makers!) is newgirlcomic’s New Girl! These guys have made a big achievement with 100 comics, I think they deserve some people stopping by to see what they’ve got!

And one last publishing-related announcement from houseofmuses (creator of House of the Muses, among other projects)!

Pride Festival 2008 Inventory Already Sold Out!

I’m making lemonade out of lemons re: the Pride Festival book selling nix. A local comic shop is selling some of my books for me AND he wants to sell for me any Prism Comics 2008 Guides I have left over from Pride, plus I’m sending out complimentary copies to the local LGBT youth groups and PFLAG in our area.
I’m at an awkward age in my book publishing process at this time. My series is growing in popularity but not hugely—I had 60 books of issues #1 and #2 to sell at Pride Festival this year but was informed on Thursday that I could not, I’d need to pay for a commercial booth. I thought, nuts to them, I need to move these books.

As of now, Saturday, I am almost sold out.

I WILL be appearing at Kentuckiana Pride Festival this year, tho, representing Prism Comics. If any of you are in the area and mention seeing this bulletin on DrunkDuck.com, I’ll have some autographed copies of House of the Muses #1 and #2 tucked under the table.

In the meantime, the fastest way to buy installments of my graphic novel miniseries is here:

Regular old news from DD

Today’s featured comic is Surfboards and Rayguns!
Intergalactic love and war on the beaches of Hawaii… as Wizer gives free surfing lessons to blonde bombshell Kona (who is interested in more than a ‘beach bum, to his dismay), spaceships battle in the stratosphere above them. Forgive the excitable punctuation early on, because this comic looks absolutely lovely- especially the water- and has a pretty interesting story developing.

Also I’ve received a completely valid criticism that all the featured comics in the past while have all been actiony guy type comics… so I will make an effort to find girlier stuff to feature. :)

Today’s featured comic is Simply Sarah!

Meet Sarah, a girl who is constantly under pressure from her family to find a boy and fall in love with him. Just one problem- she fancies girls. What’s Sarah to do? Her new friend Janey invites her out for some fun, but Sarah can hardly enjoy it as the entire time she’s wondering whether she should tell Janey how much she really likes her… unfortunately romance isn’t the only thing in her life that is difficult for Sarah.

The comic Leo by alexhatzia has just ended, which I find very sad as I featured it two weeks ago and I thought it would be going a bit longer! However, now that you know it’s a good comic and you know it’s a complete story, I think you should definitely check it out!

—-

From Anubis of Blood Bound, we are told that the print version of Blood Bound Vol.2 is now available, and also that Sassy (the comic’s succubus) will soon be getting her own clothing label!

—-

Man-Boys! by Brett at Ed Comics, which you may have thought was on hiatus, is back now and has posted its 75th page! They’ve also recently published their first 31st strips in an ash-can comic book size, and you can purchase it at their home site!

—-

ReincarnatedPotato (oops, I mean Parano) tells me that Serai has just reached 50 pages! Congrats!

—-

Stickman and Cube by Pieguy259 has reached a big 175 comics! He says that achievement was “against insuperable odds” so I guess we better congratulate him, huh? :)

And lastly, smkinoshita of Super Temps decided he was gonna interview me, which was very nice of him, but I bet he’s sorry now because I talked a lot and didn’t give up any good admin dirt. However, please visit the interview and tell smkinoshita what great questions he asked (because he did) and that his snarky comments on my answers have improved the whole thing immensely! :) smkinoshita interviews skoolmunkee

More DD news and an awesome feature

more-dd-news-and-an-awesome-feature

Sorry this newspost is a day late, had some all-day work stuff yesterday and couldn’t bear the idea of being on the computer….

Thursday’s featured comic is Manifestations!

Like several other great pieces of media, Manifestations starts with an awesome plane crash. Things only get more interesting from there. The creator of Devoid Of Life brings us a terrifying story of ghosts, monsters, resurrected cats, and other wild and scary things crawling around behind the back of reality (although ‘reality’ is a questionable concept, here). Smart, spellbindng, and looks amazing!

—-

Story of a Robot (one of my favorites, and not just ‘cos the author is a Brit) has reached 125 pages! You guys should definitely check it out!

Rival Angels (you know, the one about hot babes rasslin’) has reached the big seven five! (That’s 75 for you non-spellers). And albone has told me a bit of info that ought to get a few of you rushing to read: “We’ve seen a lot of nastiness in the ring but we’re about to see some nastiness on the outside of the ring as well. Booze never helps in these situations.” DRUNKEN CATFIGHTS awesooooome!

It’s Thursday, more DD news!

Thursday’s featured comic is How Unfortunate!

Inept police, inept villains… is anyone in How Unfortunate capable of doing their jobs? Let’s hope not, because things are pretty funny the way they are. Part cop movie, part Powers, part Naked Gun- read about what happens when a team of strangely powered (and poorly named) baddies goes up against a couple of reluctant cops and their also-reluctant ex-baddie super-powered partners. (Sounds complicated, but it’s not!)

Lots of milestones today!

In order of receipt!

Only Half: Faith and Salvation turns 100 pages on 26 June! It has been a YEAR since I started this chapter, (I was in surgery on 6 June and the next day started the new schedule and the new chapter - strange how that came together!) And once again with the 100th page comes a switch in chapters! Starting 26 June we start into “Common Foes.” Cabal gets a lot more than he bargained for in resuming his father’s trail. Sure he catches up with Renate in the town of Targus, but so does the vampire brood and Victor Sierra all at the same time. Join the mayhem!

Neilak20’s Soapbox Hill has reached 175 pages! For the curious, it has also resumed its regular Monday updates!

ifelldownthestairs tells me that I Fell Down the Stairs will be 300 comics old on Friday! Congrats! (Although no congrats are in order for falling down stairs)

Azaeziel’s Karen the Marilith has reached its 125th page milestone! That page also marks the beginning of the 4th chapter, after an unexpectedly long Chapter 3 :) (Nothing wrong with long chapters, I say!)

Tank Buddies Forever (sounds fun!) by Vakanai (who is a pretty great guy) will hit 25 pages on Friday!

Monday’s featured comic is Dirtheads!
Dirtheads is a comic about three twenty-something guys doing their part to cut the crap in the world. Gooch goes on a quest for reimbursement and reveals the ‘pretend’ service practices of modern businesses. Vince starts dating ‘a reader’ that he tries to impress by sounding more intelligent than he is, and finds that things work better when he’s not putting on an act. And Manny… well he’s just an overeducated loser with high expectations.

I’m in a hurry this morning so sorry if I don’t put as many useless words as usual into this newspost! (Also, Thursday’s newspost might be a little late.)

Beyond Human by HalJones turns 100 comics old today! Congrats! Also, the comic is in a brand-new chapter starring Aeric Summers…

I Fell Down the Stairs (by ifelldownthestairs) has reached its 1st anniversary! Awwwww!

curlpop’s Lama Glama hit 100 strips last Friday! Woo!

Age of Ends by DMH has reached 25 pages as of last Friday!

Hitting 50 comics over the weekend was The Adventures of Toast and Pie by Davekrill!

And with a sorta-triple-whammy-I-think is royduncan’s The Villain Next Door, which has reached page 50, starting book 3, and had its new website featured by its host as a site of the month!

The News will Rise Again

Today’s featured comic is The Emerald City!
You never knew Seattle was so… colorful. Or dangerous. In The Emerald City, the men are muscled and the women wear microskirts, the bad guys are monstrous psychos with cool hair, and people die left and right in some pretty gruesome ways. It’s not all random violence (though some is, like at the wings joint…), this is all connected to events 11 years ago.

The Imaginary Illustrations of Mister Cheatham by chee2424 has reached 25 pages! Although if there are pages, are the illustrations imaginary anymore? Hmm…

DJAB has a double announcement! His excellent comic Shades has reached 125 pages as of today, and he has had a very positive review about Shades posted on Ain’t It Cool News Comic Reviews! (You know the site by that Harry Knowles guy.) As for the comic, it’s in the middle of a fantasy sequence, so if you’re tired of boring old realism go check out the mystical demon fangs with big pointy teeth (unless you are Indiana Jones maybe).

And this one was from Monday, I forgot to post it here…

Hello, sorry the newspost and feature are a bit late today. I plumb forgot. Well, I didn’t really completely forget. I completely forgot all weekend but then this morning I remembered, but when I went onto the site it was chugging along too slow to do anything. Then I had work all day, then I had to walk the dog, and eat dinner, and then I had to watch a movie from 1970 about a machine that takes over the world called COLOSSUS.

But now I can do the feature and the newspost.

Monday’s feature is Project Kokiro!

A trio of fairly bubble-headed terrorists breaks into a high security compound to steal the time travel project Kokiro. They DO have a reason for wanting to go to the past (maybe) and although they seem to get in a lot of fights, they are (sort of) getting some kind of job done. If you’re looking for a colorful, whimiscal, funny comic with lots of flailing arms and strange facial expressions, check this one out!

Also, as indicated in the newspost title… the image bugs should be fixed. ALL of them. I think the thumbnails might still sometimes show the wrong rating, but the whole image updating thing, comic pages, comic thumbnails, avatars… it should all be working now. If not, let us know.

FINALLY! I feel like we should have fireworks or something…

Milestones!

worstcase has reached 100 Faults! Sounds like a pretty flawed human being to me… ;)

Dumok is pleased to announce that WarMage has reached 150 pages!

Comicdeoxyribonucleicacid by rufus_edge has reached 25 pages of comicdeoxyribonucleicgoodness! And if I spelled any of that wrong I don’t wanna know.

This last Monday was Raw Fish’s 1st year anniversary on this site!! And to thank everyone for keeping me drawing/on this site, I have made a series of flash movies. These movies will contain a slew of cameos and maybe some surprises. I will set a link to each movie starting on the 7th of July. Each and every Monday I will post a new link to a movie, until all movies have been posted. Now, I do not want any one to get their hopes up, I am NOT a flash master, and these movies are in the Raw Fish style.

Geez, set us up and knock us down why don’t you :) I’m sure the movies will be great!

Drunk Duck News

Monday’s featured comic is Welcome to Border City!
Border City (built by 12 legendary superheroes) was intended as a haven, a place where the darkness of the world outside would be kept outside. But all is not well within Border City’s walls- Evil is still at work. The comic has wonderful art with great attention to detail. It’s the enjoyably puzzling characters and story that make Border City what it is, however.

Th_Mole tells me that The One Panel Case Files has reached 250 comics as of today!

Also having a milestone today is blntmaker, maker of Better Luck Next Time, which has reached 75 pages!

Elanor Pam’s Sinful reached 50 pages last week, congrats!

Lastly, hitting 100 is Pixel Plumbers by darkpower101010!

Hey uh, the icons don’t seem to be an option any more, so uh… sorry this post doesn’t have the “Wn” icon. Just pretend it’s there!

Monday’s featured comic is The Necropolis Chronicles!
Jaina’s first day at her new boarding school is a drag. No one likes her, and the feeling is mutual. Jaina knows she is different from her schoolmates- but she doesn’t quite realize just how different until she’s captured by three weirdos in costumes, has to escape a run-down hick cabin in the woods, and sought after by witches and demons. Turns out she’s probably the normal one.

There’s a new community project starting up in the Networking and Community forum (there always is!) - this one is called Tired Comics and it’s all about sleep deprivation (and the comics people draw in that state)… basically, draw or make anything while tired, send it to Bocaj, and he’ll post it up over at Tired Comics! (Please execute safely, do not drive motor vehicles…)

Although a bit newer to the Duck, Majin Kedamoki ’s comic The Final Zone is 1 year old on July 23rd!

The Compozerz by antcomics has recently hit 25 pages! Woo!

For Your Eyes Only… is now a whopping 250 pages old! Congrats, Kohdok!
